This Mac seems to have an Intel processor, and Hominis needs Apple silicon. To make sure, choose Apple menu → About This Mac: an Apple silicon Mac lists a chip such as Apple M1.

- Mount image Double-click the downloaded image. Its name starts with
hominis-and ends in.mac.dmg. - Drag application Drop Hominis into your Applications folder.
- Open Hominis Find Hominis in your Applications folder or via Spotlight. You may need to accept opening the application for the first time.
- Eject image Eject the mounted image. You may then delete the .dmg file.
After installing
UpdatesBy default, Hominis is set up to download updates in the background, then install them once you restart the application. If you want to check the current version, open “Settings” and head to “About Hominis”.
ExtensionsHominis is built on Firefox ESR, so add-ons from addons.mozilla.org can be installed right away. Via “Settings”, you can set the behaviour for installed extensions, including pinning them to the tile header bar.
